# Operator Actions

> Every show operation — Cut, a scene to Preview, an overlay, the next PlayList row, the next track — as an action that a key, a Stream Deck button or the remote API can run.

What an action is, and how to make one.

An action is one operation of the show, and it does exactly what its button does: Cut, Quick Play, a scene to Preview, an overlay on Program, Take Next on the PlayList, Play Next on the audio playlist. Logic › Actions lists the page's actions. They are saved with the page, so they travel with the show.

1. Menu bar → Logic → Actions, then Add action.
2. Pick a type. Search by name, or narrow the list with the group chips: Switcher, PlayList, Media Playout, Audio Playlist, Mixer, Graphics, Outputs, Sequence.
3. Fill in what it needs — a scene, an overlay number, Toggle, On or Off.
4. Give it a shortcut, put it on a Stream Deck key, or name it for the remote API.
5. Run tries it at once, exactly as its key would.

| Field | Does |
| --- | --- |
| Shortcut | Record, then press the keys. The note under the field names the editor command the key shadows. A key belongs to one action: recording it on another action moves it there. |
| Stream Deck | Put on a key: pick a key of the deck. The key lights from the action's state. The page must be saved first. |
| Remote | Name the action to call it as Action Name=… over TCP, OSC or HTTP. Unnamed, the type itself can be sent with its fields. |
| Run / Duplicate / Delete | Run it now; copy it with its settings; remove it. A Stream Deck key whose action is gone shows Missing action. |

> **One Preview for everything:** The Multiview, the console, every key and the remote API share one Preview scene, saved with the page. Cut and Quick Play put the old Program back on Preview, so a key, a stinger and a click on the console always agree on what comes next.
