# Groups & Repeaters: Repeat over data

A group can be stamped once per item in an array. Set the repeat on the group and every child binding resolves against that item rather than the root.

| Setting | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| Path | The store path holding the array. |
| Direction | down (stacked rows) or right (columns). |
| Gap | Pixels between stamps. |
| Max items | A ceiling on how many are drawn. |

> **Always set a max:** A feed that suddenly returns 400 rows will draw 400 rows. Max items is the difference between a long leaderboard and a page that stops responding on air.
