# Inputs · NDI · OMT · SRT · RTMP · SDI · Capture

> Bring live video into Glider — NDI with alpha, OMT, SRT, RTMP pushed from an encoder or pulled from a server, DeckLink SDI, and this computer's screens and app windows — like vMix inputs, and show it with a Feed component.

The input list, the engine, and how pictures reach a page.

Settings › Inputs holds this machine's live inputs. Add one of each kind with the buttons, name it, and open its settings to say where its pictures come from. The list order is the input number a Feed can name, as in vMix.

| Kind | Receives | Needs |
| --- | --- | --- |
| NDI | A source on the network, chosen from the ones found or typed by name; an optional ip:port for a source on another subnet; full quality or proxy; with its alpha channel kept or dropped. | NDI Tools (the NDI runtime). |
| OMT | An Open Media Transport source, chosen from the ones found or typed as omt://hostname:port. | The libomt runtime with libvmx. Runtime takes its file or folder path when it is not found on its own. |
| Screen Capture | One of this computer's screens. | The desktop app, and screen recording permission for Glider (macOS: Privacy & Security › Screen Recording). |
| App / Window Capture | One application window. | As Screen Capture. |
| SRT | An SRT stream, as listener (the sender calls this machine) or caller; latency, passphrase and stream ID. | ffmpeg built with libsrt. |
| RTMP | Receive: an encoder (OBS, a phone, a hardware encoder) pushes to rtmp://this-machine:1935/live with an optional stream key. Pull: read from an RTMP server URL. | ffmpeg. |
| SDI | A Blackmagic DeckLink capture input, with its format detected or chosen. | Blackmagic Desktop Video. |

The input engine, a separate process the server starts while any input is on, receives every input once and serves its pictures to all Feeds over WebSocket as JPEG frames — alpha travels as a second, grey picture under the first and is recombined on the GPU. A viewer that falls behind is skipped frames, never delayed. If the engine stops it is restarted and Feeds reconnect on their own.

Inputs can also be made where they are shown. The Inspector's add buttons have Screen Capture, App Capture, NDI and OMT: each adds a Feed component together with a new input of that kind, and the Feed's Inspector holds that input's settings. A Feed's Source type switches the kind of the input it shows.

> **Outputs carry Feeds:** A page's Feeds are part of its picture, so Settings › Outputs sends them on over NDI, SRT, RTMP or SDI like any other layer.
