Screen Capture and App / Window Capture show a screen or an application window of the computer Glider runs on, for a slide deck, a browser or a replay tool. Pick the screen or window from the list (Refresh capture sources reads it again); if the list is empty, Glider has no screen recording permission yet. App capture takes one window, not every window of that application. Capture is picture only.

| Setting | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| Frame rate | 30, 45, 60, 90, 120 or 144 frames per second. Match it to the show for motion; a still screen sends few new frames. |
| Resolution | Source size, or a fixed 3840 × 2160, 2560 × 1440, 1920 × 1080, 1280 × 720 or 960 × 540, with width and height editable. |
| Framing | For a fixed size: Fit keeps the whole source with black bars, Crop fills the frame, Stretch changes the proportions. |
| Quality | The JPEG quality of the shared feed: the canvas, monitors and outputs all get the same pictures. |

Capture runs in its own process, apart from the editor. Inputs with the same source, frame rate, size, framing and quality share one capture and one encoder; each keeps its own name and status, and the capture stops when the last of them is removed. A capture that falls behind skips frames rather than catching up, so it never lags behind the screen.

> **Lower load:** 1280 × 720 at 30 fps costs the least. A Retina screen at its source size and high quality costs the most: every frame is encoded as JPEG.
