A key can change appearance from live state. Every part is optional — a key with no feedback renders its base style forever, which is what an unbound spare key should do.

| Field | Does |
| --- | --- |
| active: auto | Derived from what the key drives — its unit is running, its clip is playing. |
| active: onAir | Rundown take state on the target page, optionally for one named item. |
| active: path | A store path; equals compares as a string, omitted means truthy. |
| activeStyle | The look while active, merged over the base style. |
| textPath | A store path whose value replaces the caption. |
| textFormat | Prefix, suffix and decimals — a clock or a score is rarely raw JSON. |
| states | Hand-authored path/value styles, first match wins, under activeStyle. |

> **The panel becomes a tally:** With onAir feedback on your take keys, the deck shows the gallery what is live without anyone reading a screen.
