# Troubleshooting: Data & bindings

| Symptom | Cause and fix |
| --- | --- |
| Clicking a key in the Binder does nothing | No slot is armed — the header shows idle text, not “Connecting …”. |
| The element is hidden when it should be shown | A hidden binding without invert. Set invert, or write the value as a hide flag. |
| The value flickers | Two writers on one path. Run the unit check. |
| Nothing on air, fine in the editor | A guard is holding a missing value, or the path is only written client-side. |
| A feed field is greyed out | That poller is disabled. |
| The poller answers but nothing paints | Check whether a component is bound to the mapped data path. Unread control data is allowed and does not block go-live. |
| The page repaints constantly | A unit or feed writing a changing value (a timestamp, a random id) into the store on every update. Map only the fields the graphic reads. |
| Hand-edited page JSON reverted | The running app owns data/pages/*.json. Use the editor or the API. |
