# Workspace Layout: Workspace presets

The Workspace bar under the menu bar switches the Layers, Right and Bottom panels and holds the presets. Design, Animation and Focus Viewer rearrange the panels once. Playout and Multiview stay pressed: the window below the bar becomes that console, and pressing the preset again brings your panels back exactly as they were.

| Focus Viewer | The Viewer alone. |
| Playout | The Viewer, Layers and right panel close and the window becomes the Playout console. |
| Multiview | The same, for the Multiview console: Preview, Cut and Output above the scene tiles. |

- A console is the same panel as its dock tab, so changing presets never interrupts it: Program keeps playing, and a video on a hidden scene keeps its sound.
- Keys that edit what a console hides (Delete, arrows, tools, zoom, selection) do nothing while it is on. On-air and PlayList commands and control panel keys still run. Undo works on Multiview, whose routing buttons make undo steps, and not on Playout, which never edits the page.
- Opening something that lands in the Viewer, such as Logic or Binder, leaves the console first. A console that is popped out comes back to the main window when you press its preset.
- The preset is remembered on this device. Reset leaves the console and restores the default panels.
