Control Panels

Operator surfaces built from widgets, bound to page data, never sent to air.

Operators on phones, tablets and laptops, with no install.

Open a Control Panel scene and its sharing settings take the place of the bottom dock while that panel is the active one. Save the page, choose Can control or View only, and press Start sharing. Send the local-network link or let people scan the QR code. A guest types a device name and uses the panel in a browser, without installing Glider.

Guests see the panel as it is designed, with its fonts, images and masks, scaled to fit their screen. 1:1 shows it at its own size, dragging the empty grid pans, and Fit centres it again. Clicking empty canvas goes full screen where the browser allows it. A sync icon spins while a guest's change is on its way and turns into a check only once Glider has accepted every change; a change that fails shows an error and is never reported as synced.

ControlDoes
Can control / View onlyWhat the link allows. A View only link limits everyone to watching.
A device's own permissionEach connected device follows the link, or is limited to viewing or controlling on its own.
Pause controls / Resume controlsStops all guest input for a while; the link and the live display stay up.
DisconnectDrops one device. Someone who still has the link can join again.
New linkDisconnects everyone and retires the old link.
StopEnds sharing and retires the link at once.
Preview and PGM locksPer device: whether that guest may open a Preview or a Program monitor. Both start locked.
AddressShown when this machine has several network addresses or serves both http and https.

A guest the locks allow sees Preview and PGM buttons beside Fit and 1:1. Each opens a floating monitor that docks in a corner and can be resized. The monitors play the output engine's H.264 web picture, shared by every guest watching the same page and bus. Locking a monitor again closes it at once.

While someone edits a control, the others see a small avatar and name on it. Text, number, date and list fields are held for one guest at a time while that guest edits, so two people do not type over each other. The editor keeps control.

  • Each panel is shared on its own, with its own link and permissions.
  • Closing the dock does not stop sharing. Opening another page pauses the panel's controls; opening the saved page again can resume them.
  • If the editor is gone for two minutes the session ends. Restarting the server or the app ends every session.
  • A button press that fails, or whose result is unknown, is never queued or retried when the guest reconnects.
