Multiview

Every graphic scene as a card, vMix-style: route scenes to Program or an overlay, play their animations, and set colour, keying and position per scene.

Record Program to a file.

Record, in the bar at the bottom of the console, records Program: the picture the outputs send, with its sound. Save the page first. Open the gear for Recording Setup, choose a folder on the Glider machine (Browse… in the desktop app), press OK, then press Record. The page does not have to be live, and recording does not turn the outputs on.

  • Stop & save waits until the file is written and closed.
  • Closing Recording Setup or leaving Multiview does not stop a recording.
  • One recording runs per machine. Record shows it even when it was started from another page.
  • Every recording gets a new folder of its own, so an earlier recording is never overwritten.
  • Settings cannot change while a recording runs.
SettingDoes
Directory and FilenameWhere the recording goes: an absolute path on the Glider machine.
Size and Frame Rate1280 × 720, 1920 × 1080 or 3840 × 2160, at the rate you choose. Program is scaled and rate-converted for the file.
Format and CodecThe container, and an encoder this machine's ffmpeg has. Choices it lacks are greyed out.
Rate ControlBitrate, or Constant quality (CRF) for H.264, HEVC, VP9 and AV1. ProRes takes a profile (Proxy to 4444 XQ) instead; FFV1 is lossless.
Keyframe EverySeconds between keyframes, 1–10.
Audio, Audio Quality and Audio DelayOn by default. Bitrate of the sound, and a delay of ±10 seconds: positive pads the start, negative trims it.
New File EveryNone, or a new file every 1–60 minutes. Files split on keyframes and each one plays on its own; a CSV index lists them with their start and end times.

The sound is Program's own mix, stereo at 48 kHz: its videos, Playout profiles and the audio playlist, through the Mixer's faders and mutes. Microphones, the computer's other sound and Preview are not recorded, and muting this window's speakers does not mute the recording. If the sound cannot be captured, the recording stops with an error rather than continuing silent.
