Units

Declarative behaviours — clocks, counters, tickers, formatters, watch rules and data feeds — that write to the store.

Rotate array items, animate each change, or scroll a continuous text strip.

A ticker reads an array and publishes its current index and item. A new ticker starts with an empty Source array and holds the first item until you turn on Running in its header. Bind a text component to data::ticker1.value for strings, or to a field such as data::ticker1.value.title for objects.

FieldMeaning
Source arrayEmpty on a new ticker; click it to browse. The prefix says where the list comes from: data:: for page data, poller::<feed>:: for a data feed, sheets:: for a spreadsheet column. Add New Item and the inline rows create and edit page-data entries.
Sheet · Sheets columnShown when Source array starts with sheets::. Pick the sheet first, then one of its columns (A, B, C…). The column’s cells are listed read-only; edit them in Logic → Sheets, and formula results follow.
From · ToShown once a column is selected: the first and last row to read, both included and counted from 1. Leave To empty to read to the last row. A row outside the sheet, or To above From, shows an error and is not saved.
OutputsEach ticker publishes one object with two read-only fields: data::ticker1.index (current position, starting at zero) and data::ticker1.value (current item), then ticker2 and so on. Bind a graphic to value, or one of its fields. Deleting a ticker removes its outputs.
RunningThe single Start/Stop switch. A stopped ticker holds its position.
ProcessThe ticker’s one timing field, in the Input → Process → Output strip at the top of the form. Without Infinite loop it is the time each item stays on screen, in seconds (default 3, minimum 0.25); with a workflow it is the Run hold and Reveal and Hide add their full duration. With Infinite loop it is the scroll speed in page pixels per second (default 80, range 1–2000). A value outside the range shows an error and is not saved.
Skip emptySkip null, undefined and empty-string entries. Zero and false still count as items; a blank field inside an object does not skip the object.
On Change AnimationSelect the workflow that plays Reveal, Run and Hide for each item. Infinite loop is greyed out while a workflow is selected.
Infinite loopText bound to data::ticker1.value (or one of its fields) repeats the array as a continuous right-to-left strip, at the speed set in Process. On Change Animation is greyed out while scrolling is selected.
SeparatorText between scrolling items. Defaults to • with three spaces on each side. Include spaces for spacing, or leave it empty for no separator.

Set up a ticker

  • Choose Source array from page data (data::), a feed (poller::) or a spreadsheet (sheets::). For page data, use Add New Item to create entries at the selected path, edit a row, or remove it with ×. Strings are plain text; objects, numbers and other non-string entries use valid JSON. Feed updates can replace edits to feed-backed data.
  • For a spreadsheet, type sheets:: in Source array, then choose the Sheet, the column and optionally a From–To row range. Header rows count as rows, so start From below a header.
  • For simple rotation, leave Workflow at None and Scroll continuously off. Set how long each item stays on screen in Process, in seconds.
  • For animated items, select an existing workflow under On Change Animation. Each item plays Reveal → Run → Hide before the next item appears. Process sets the Run hold; Run extends to fit a longer Run animation. For example, 0.5 s Reveal + 3 s Run hold + 0.75 s Hide gives 4.25 s per item.
  • For a crawling headline bar, clear Workflow to None, enable Scroll continuously under Infinite loop, and bind the text component’s content to data::ticker1.value or one of its fields. The whole array repeats right to left with the configured Separator (a bullet by default), clipped inside the text box. Set the speed in Process, in pixels per second.
  • The two motion modes are exclusive. Turn off Scroll continuously before selecting a workflow, or clear Workflow before enabling scrolling. Turn on Running to begin.

Actions

  • start — begin or resume; starting an already running ticker does nothing. With a workflow, a stopped item starts again from Reveal.
  • pause · stop — hold the position; a selected workflow plays Hide. toggle switches between running and held.
  • reset — return to the first eligible item and hold.
  • next · previous — step manually and wrap. goto jumps to a zero-based source-array index; with Skip empty, an empty slot hands over to the next eligible item. In timed modes, each step begins a fresh item cycle and preserves running or held state.

Use unit actions for operator buttons and Stream Deck keys. With a workflow, stopping can hide the graphic while the current item stays selected. An empty array leaves the index at 0 with no current item to display.
