Declarative behaviours — clocks, counters, tickers, formatters, watch rules and data feeds — that write to the store.

Act when a path changes or meets a condition.

A Watch rule watches its own Source path. It fires only after that source changes and its Condition matches; extra inputs supply values to its expressions but do not trigger the rule. Unlike a Formatter, it does not calculate an initial value on load. The changed source value is available as src.

The compact When box groups Source path, Condition, optional comparison Value and Debounce in one row. On narrow panels the source moves above the small settings. Extra inputs is a collapsible section; Sets groups the destinations and expressions in Keys = Values rows. Drag a row's grip to reorder assignments.

FieldMeaning
Source pathThe path being watched, selected separately from Extra inputs.
ConditionChanged · Equals · Does not equal · Greater than · At least · Less than · At most · Contains (op: changed, eq, ne, gt, gte, lt, lte, contains).
ValueThe comparison value, for every op except changed. Browse data::, poller:: or sheets:: directly with IntelliSense; its current value is read when the rule evaluates. Expressions, functions, src and Extra inputs are also supported. Quote text literals such as "Hello". An empty Value leaves the rule untriggered without warnings or blocking going live. Changing the comparison source alone does not trigger the rule.
Extra inputsAdditional named paths the set expressions may read, alongside src.
SetsOne or more output/expression pairs written when the rule matches.
Debounce msSuppress repeated fires inside the window.

Actions

  • fire — evaluate now, respecting the condition
  • force — write the sets regardless

A rule needs at least one set, and a set that reads its own output is refused for the same reason a formatter's is.
