Animation Timeline

The bottom-dock timeline: workflows, clips, targets, channels and keyframes.

What a clip is applied to.

Target kindMeans
SceneAn entire layer — fans out to every node on it.
GroupThe group and everything beneath it: each component moves on its own, around its own centre.
Group, moving as one pieceThe group itself moves, turns and scales around its centre, carrying everything beneath it — nested groups ride along. Components keep their resting rotation.
NodeOne component.
Text node, splitThe text animates letter by letter or word by word, each piece a stagger after the one before.
  • Add a target picks what this workflow drives; one workflow can drive many.
  • Each assignment has a stagger delay — “Stagger delay before this target starts” — which is how a list builds on row by row.
  • Order sequences several assignments on the same target and phase; lanes can be dragged to reorder.
  • An assignment can be disabled without deleting it.
  • Move as one piece, under a group target, switches it from moving each component to moving the group as a whole. Use it for a container that wipes, grows or turns while its content builds on separately.
  • Under a text target, Whole text / Letters / Words sets the split. Letters and words get their own delay between pieces (0.04 s by default) and an order: first to last, last to first, from the centre, from the edges, or random.
  • A clip's row shows which components it drives, so a scene-level clip does not hide what it actually touches.
